Setting up a New CDK Global ® User

Use Update User Profile (UUP) to set up and maintain the individual user profiles that control user access to the applications and functions on your computer system. For more information, consult your CDK Global® System Users Guide or contact CDK Global ®.

  • First, select Update User Profile from the Function Code line by typing UUP. You can use this function to set up and maintain the individual user profiles that control user access to the applications and functions on your computer system.

  • Use the Update option to set up a new User.

  • Selecting this option will display the Update User Profile screen:

  • To create a new user profile, enter a three-to-eight-character User ID (beginning with a letter) and then fill in Last Name, First Name, and Passwd. Below is a sample screen showing suggested values:

  • Enter MSTR for Profile.

  • Press F1 for a list of organizations the user will access. Each store will be listed as a separate organization. Select each applicable store, then press F3 to exit.

  • Press F1 again to choose the default organization. Select whichever store you would like to be the default, then press F3 to exit.

  • Press F1 to access the Accounts options. Select each account this user should have access to, then press F3 to exit.

  • Press F3 to save and exit.
